Our Pastor

Reverend Edwin Coffie, M.Div., Pastor

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

"That's what the Bible said!"

Pastor Coffie is a native of Belle Glade, Florida. He was educated in the Belle Glade Public School system. His musical gifts were superior, earning him a full scholarship to attend Bethune-Cookman College, Daytona Beach, Florida.

Upon graduation from Bethune-Cookman, he was employed in the Sales Industry with Johnson & Johnson and AT&T for several years. While employed full-time, Pastor Coffie served as Minister of Music at local churches in the Central Florida area. During this time, he accepted God’s call to His Gospel Ministry and was ordained in 1998.

Upon returning to Daytona Beach, Edwin Coffie served as Director of Admissions at Bethune-Cookman University. He was recognized for setting new recruitment records based on the largest number of students enrolled in a single year.

His seminary training began at the Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia. Reverend Edwin Coffie received his Masters of Divinity from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology in Richmond, Virginia. His familiarity with the local Church can be attributed to the informal training received as a young child while attending Church meetings, visiting and praying with the sick and sitting next to his father a Baptist Pastor.

Pastor Coffie was led to organize the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Palm Coast, Florida, where he now serves as a full-time Pastor. This Teaching and Tithing Ministry has been blessed in the dedication and occupancy of Phase 1 Building Project – a Family Life Center, completed in February 2004. Phase 2 was the design and building of a Christian Education Center and Sanctuary. Mt. Calvary broke ground in February 2008 and completed the project in December 2008.

He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Singing, fishing, listening to music and shopping are some of his most enjoyable hobbies. He and his wife, Carol, are the proud parents of two children. Edwin is a 2009 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Morehouse College and a 2010 graduate of the Master’s Accounting Program, at Notre Dame University. Jenae “Erica,” is a graduate at Clark Atlanta University.
